Workwear Inspo by Occupation – Plus Size Style

Work Outfit by Occupation Tara Jane Plus Size Fashion

I saw Tori Block (@Torii.Block) recently share some outfits by job title and I absolutely loved that idea so below I’m showing 6 different outfits and the occupation I think would wear them.

Everything was already pre-owned in my closet which actually made this even more fun, because I’m on a mission this year to fall back in love with my wardrobe and find ways to repurpose pieces I used to love/may have temporarily been devoured by the closet monster.

Work Outfit 1: Attorney

You’ll need to take most of these outfits with a grain of salt since, not being one, I can’t be exactly sure they’re accurate, but I felt like this was a really put together look that a lawyer could easily remove their jacket when with a client and still be appropriate!

Pants: Express

Boots: TOMS

Tote: Kate Spade

Lip: KVD Beauty Liquid Lipstick

Work Outfit 2: Museum Curator

I absolutely love neck tie blouses and this one is just the right amount of over the top with the puff sleeves and enlarged bow. This is modern and formidable enough where to me it’s the perfect outfit for someone “cultured” like a museum curator haha.

Work Outfit 3: Marketing or Brand Manager

Being in marketing myself I can confirm that this outfit is one that does go with the title haha.

Glasses: Zeelool (blue light blockers)

Work Outfit 4: Graphic Designer

I’ve found in my experience that graphic designers and other creatives always have a really fun, eclectic style that perfectly mixes textiles and patterns. While I don’t have that “eye” I do think that this easy and laidback look has just enough edge to be interesting. Plus this dino tote is cool and quirky!

Work Outfit 5: CEO

I realize that this may not be appropriate for ALL CEOs, but this outfit gives off serious boss vibes and there’s nothing more powerful than a statement red lip. (Seamus agrees).

Skirt: Torrid (Rebel Wilson collection back circa 2016)

Shoes: Torrid

Computer Bag: Hand me down for my Grandmom!

Necklace: Unsure (very old)

Work Outfit 6: Reality TV Star 😂

I saved my favorite “aspirational” outfit for last haha. Fun fact about me is that I actually interviewed for the Real World back in my 20s and got to round 2 before I decided I was probably too old and abandoned my dream of being one of 6 strangers picked to live in a house.

This outfit gives off reality show vibes – think Selling Sunset, Real Housewives or Vanderpump Rules. I’m living for it.
