I do want to take a moment to say something before jumping in, because I know a lot of females in my personal life who have lost the joy for celebrating Independence Day based on how women are currently being treated by politicians, supreme court justices, misogynists, and religious extremists. I’m not going to say that I haven’t experienced those same feelings, however I love America because I love the ideals we were built on and I love democracy.

To say I hate America is to spit on all the women who came before me and fought to make it better. So I wear my red, white, and blue to honor them and also because I can’t willingly allow one more thing to be taken away from me.
