Today is February 1st, which means I have successfully completed my personal “No Shop January ” challenge.
What were the rules? Just one: buy nothing new.
That may seem like a novel concept, but I’m an emotional shopper and this time of year is especially hard on me. The anxiety and stress of the holiday season coupled with short days and the end of year “did I accomplish enough” blues takes it’s toll and it’s hard not to do something that gives me temporary relief – like the dopamine high shopping does.
What were the end goals?
- Fall back in love with my wardrobe
- Help reprioritize saving vs spending
- Lastly – the most important reason – refocus on finding positive ways to be present in my feelings
Did I succeed? Yes. Do I feel like I met my goals? Double yes. It was especially fun to put together some more “classic” outfits vs. fast fashion.
Below are my 7 favorite outfits from the month.
