Abercrombie & Fitch caused me a lot of mental anguish as a pre-teen and teenager. I felt so worthless and embarrassed that I didn’t have the body that the girls in their photos had and there was nothing I hated more than pretending that I “didn’t like anything” on trips with my friends, when in reality, it didn’t matter, because at 190lbs and 5’10 I didn’t FIT anything.
You’d think this would make me want to revolt against the brand now, but I like to look at it as they’re one of the more mainstream brands and by supporting them making the changes towards being more size inclusive, it will make other mainstream brands want to change, too. Plus the clothes are cute!
Have they changed enough? Hell no. Most of their clothes are still only available in a size XL and sometimes go up to a size XXL, but their jeans HAVE become more inclusive. So that’s what I’m going to feature here – the jeans of 15 year old Tara’s dreams, finally made to fit her.
Shop all the jeans below on my LTK.it
All the jeans below are from their Curve Love collection and in size 35. Their “Curve Love” jeans have more give in the hips and thighs area, which is essential. None of these jeans have stretch, so while I’d normally consider myself a 34, it made sense for me to size up.
1: Curve Love Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jean
These are both snug on your waist and relaxed through the thigh. I absolutely love the black wash and these look so good over a bodysuit or with a tucked in shirt – which is not something I ever thought I’d advocate for!

Shoes: Vans
2: Curve Love High Rise Dad Jean
These are my favorite plus size jeans for everyday wear. The have a button fly and baggy without losing all your shape. I even wear these while working from home because they’re super comfortable to sit in.

3: Curve Love High Rise Mom Jean
I actually have this cut of Abercrombie jean in two washes. I couldn’t decide which one to keep so kept both 🤦♀️, This wash is the “dark destroy.”

4: Curve Love High Rise Mom Jean
This is the black wash of mom jeans. I love how black jeans instantly add a little edge to your outfit.

5: Curve Love High Rise 90s Relaxed Jean
Lastly, these jeans are the ones of my middle school dreams. They do tend to get a bit loose after a full day of wear, but I’d rather have them be loose than start out too tight!
