In 2024 I started my “Inspired By” series where I recreate outfits I see on women creators who inspire me by only using what I have in my closet. I have two “whys”
- I have an overflowing closet full of cute stuff that I don’t wear often enough. Instead of impulse shopping for what’s new, I wanted to find new ways and embrace new styles for wearing what I already have.
- I always expected to get hate from men on this account, but I realized quickly that a lot of time it’s females who go out of their way to put down other women and this is such a toxic practice.
In the words of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, “We raise girls to see each other as competitors. Not for jobs or for accomplishments, which I think can be a good thing, but for the attention of men…”
We’ve been conditioned our whole lives that we should be fighting with one another instead of supporting one another because we’re only valuable if another woman isn’t. The reality is that trying to spill water from someone else’s cup doesn’t make yours any fuller. It’s 2024 and mean girl culture just isn’t it.
This series is important to me, because supporting women is important to me. I’ve done a lot of internal work this year to reprogram my own brain and going out of my way to elevate and loudly support other women.
I’m going into 2025 with this same mentality. I hope you’ll join me.

Summer to Winter Outfit Transition
This outfit was inspired by a creator I follow, Samantha Martin. I love her edgy romantic style and have found myself embracing it in my own outfits.
The outfit below she built based off a backless dress I also have from Amazon. I love how she was able to style it to still get use during the cold months so I had to try.

Dress: Amazon
Sweater: Universal Standard (Code INFS-AMBTARA to save)
Boots: Torrid
Belt: Target
Necklaces: Amazon
Lips: KVD Beauty
You can watch my reel on instagram to see her take as well!
You can check out the rest of the “inspired by” looks I’ve done this year here.
XOXO, Tara
